Lifeguard

General Function

We are seeking responsible, alert, and safety-minded Lifeguards to help ensure a safe and enjoyable aquatic environment for all patrons. Lifeguards are responsible for monitoring swimmers, enforcing facility rules, preventing accidents, and responding quickly and effectively to emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance of swimmers and aquatic areas
• Enforce pool rules and safety regulations
• Respond promptly to emergencies, including water rescues and first aid situations
• Administer CPR, first aid, and emergency care when necessary
• Perform routine safety checks of equipment and facilities
• Maintain a clean and orderly pool deck
• Communicate clearly with patrons regarding safety guidelines
• Complete incident and accident reports accurately
• Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum age requirement – 16 and older
• Current Lifeguard Certification
• Current CPR/AED and first aid certification
• Ability to remain calm and act decisively in emergency situations
• Excellent observation and communication skills
• Dependable, punctual, and professional demeanor

Work environment & Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand and move for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and assist individuals during a rescue
• Exposure to sun, heat, water, and outdoor elements
• Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
