Michael “Gus” Caylor Jr. is Alderperson for the Second District. Prior to being elected to the Common Council in 2022, Michael is a third-generation business owner in the City of Merrill. He owns Caylor’s Trophy Bar and Caylor’s Wisconsin Professional Livery Service. He was Communications Officer at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office for more than 25 years.
As a life-long resident, Michael enjoys learning about the City of Merrill’s rich history and heritage, and sharing his knowledge with others. Michael is a certified firefighter in the State of Wisconsin, and has an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license and Wisconsin Funeral Director’s Apprentice license.
Michael and his wife share a passion for local government and serving the community. Each year, they help organize Gazebo Nights at Normal Park, which is a summer concert series. They enjoy traveling and making at least one annual trip to Florida in late winter.
