Victim Notification from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), is committed to protecting the public and ensuring that the rights of victims are carefully observed. HSI administers the Victim Notification Program which allows eligible victims and witnesses to obtain reliable and timely information regarding a criminal alien's release from custody. However, victims and witnesses are required to register with our agency in order to receive notification of a criminal alien's release.

Merrill Police Department Use of Force Policy

Following the passage of 2021 WI Act 48 and 49, WI Law Enforcement agencies must adopt and publish Use of Force policies that prohibit "choke holds" unless certain circumstances exist. This requirement was somewhat consistent with existing Federal prohibitions relative to "choke holds" and required little modification from our existing policy. The current Merrill Police Department Use of Force Policy is attached and free for citizens to download.
