Structure Fire in the Town of Rock Falls

At 04:35 AM on May 9th, 2024, the Merrill Fire Department was notified by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center of a reported structure fire at N5621 State Road 107 in the Town of Rock Falls.  Initial dispatch information reported that the structure was fully involved according to the reporting party.  The initial response from the Merrill Fire Department included Engine 61, Medic 62, and Tender 65. Lincoln County Sheriff Deputies were the first on scene and reported that the building was fully involved with a majority of the structure being consumed by the fire and a power line down near the residence. It was unknown if the residence was occupied. Additional resources were requested from Tomahawk EMS, Wisconsin Public Service, Pine River Fire Department, Corning Fire Department, and Town of Russell Fire Department, along with a General Alarm for off-duty Merrill Firefighters.

Merrill Fire gets it Dunn

The Merrill Fire Department (MFD) is excited to announce the hiring of our 190th member, Firefighter/Paramedic (FF/P) Ryan Dunn.  After completing all of the necessary hiring requirements, FF/P Dunn started on Monday, April 1st and was sworn in on April 4th. He will participate in a week long orientation program before joining his new shift, B-Crew, on April 10th.  He will complete 10 work shifts before being ..........
